As personal data accumulates more and more, besides storing data in self-built NAS, most people choose to store data in cloud storage. The open-source software AList, which I introduced to everyone before, has received good feedback. In 2023, it has also been welcomed by more people, providing a good experience whether used locally or on servers.
Due to AList's support for multiple cloud storage providers, as well as features such as file format preview, gallery mode, folder batch download, web upload, offline download, cross-storage file copying, and a feature friendly to small websites - traffic does not go through servers. This has led many people to deploy AList as their own resource sharing site.
It is important to understand that just because you don't publish something online doesn't mean it won't be indexed. Don't think: "What's the point of mounting it? As long as I don't tell anyone, can others know the private address I use?" The tools mentioned above are used to index nodes in cyberspace. For example, regarding Shodan, it is described as follows:
A dark version of Google, as a search engine for network devices, it can quickly search for the device information you want in global devices. From servers, industrial control devices, to smart home appliances, cameras, as long as it is a device connected to the Internet, Shodan can find it.
